Haven't started using this yet but it looks great. I am a special education teacher. This really breaks the types of word problems down into clear categories with visuals / graphic organizers. Comes with a CD so you can print worksheets and printables to hang on the wall or to keep in students desk.

Fantastic resource for teaching word problems

What a fantastic resource! I use this book at a learning center where I teach students with learning disabilities. Jitendra does a fantastic job of breaking down word problems into different types and teaching each of those parts to mastery before moving on to the next. It provides easily learned mnemonic devices and strategy cards and gives practice using them. The program comes with a downloadable CD that includes all the problems and handouts you will need. The script for each lesson is provided for those who need some support teaching these concepts. The only downside is the price. You can get it a little cheaper at [...]. I recommend it to all elementary teachers including regular classroom teachers, interventionists, special educators, and homeschoolers. You won't regret splurging on this book.
